Service Description

We at Kaleidoscope Creations focus on creating a fun and safe environment to help your child explore the creative world of arts. Giving your preschooler time, materials and space to be creative is very important. Preschoolers like to be spontaneous in their creative paintings. But there’ll also be times when your child wants us to be more involved in guiding whilst drawing/painting. By being actively involved, we can develop your child’s skills and understanding in art and creativity even more. It’s important to send the message that there’s more than one way to do something. For example, there’s more than one way to draw a person, build a sandcastle or play a drum. This lets children know they don’t have to conform to anyone else’s ideas and they can go their own way. In art class we are focusing a lot on creativity and challenge your child not to copy any other work done by another child in art class. If as from an early stage onwards creativity is developed your child has a tremendous advantage in adulthood with obstacles and problem-solving on a day to day basis. We like to encourage your child to keep going and finish artworks. This helps with patience and diligence in everyday situations. But once your child says it’s finished, it’s finished! Whatever artworks your child comes up with, we will give your child lots of descriptive praise. For example ‘I love the picture you drew. You really know how to put colours together’. This boosts self-esteem and encourages your child to keep going with creativity and painting. In the previous 15 years of working with children we know that uplifting, and a caring and loving environment is essential to work with your child especially if it is wired artistically in nature. These types of kids are more sensitive and criticism or harsh words will discourage them very easily or destroy their self-esteem.
